Payment sandbox
Administrator testing only. Isolated test payments use a separate ledger. The customer credit test below explicitly adds one beta magazine to an approved test account after a verified test payment. Neither test enables real payments or starts generation automatically.
Connect a Stripe sandbox
Open your Stripe Dashboard and check the account switcher for Sandboxes. Choose or create a sandbox before collecting its test credentials.
Create three GBP test prices: 99p introductory, £3.99 single, and £2.99 recurring every week. Add an event destination for checkout.session.completed and invoice.paid using this URL:
Credentials are sent directly to this server and are never displayed back. Live keys and live prices are rejected.
Customer credit test
Test the automatic payment-to-credit step using a verified, enabled regular beta account. A paid, signed sandbox webhook adds exactly one complimentary magazine to that account. No real payment is taken. Weekly is coming soon.
Try checkout
Use Stripe test card 4242 4242 4242 4242 for success, or 4000 0000 0000 0002 for a decline. Use a future expiry and any three-digit CVC. Do not use a real card. Stripe testing guide
After payment, return here and refresh. A successful payment must receive a verified webhook before its test allowance appears. Replaying that webhook must not increase the allowance count. Manage and cancel test subscriptions in the same Stripe sandbox.
